For scholars it represents an important moment of confrontation in which to present their research and discuss the results; for professionals it is a valid opportunity for professional updating and for deepening the skills of the field in which they operate; for school teachers it is an opportunity to discuss the contents and teaching methods of Geosciences as well as providing the possibility of establishing laboratory collaboration relationships with the world of research. Finally, it offers everyone the opportunity to increase collaborations with the many public and private realities in which geological skills find space and to discuss new development and technology transfer strategies.
The Congress will also be an opportunity to reflect on the current and future role of Geosciences in society, on the function they must assume in the education of citizens and in safeguarding the cultural and natural heritage that distinguishes Italy. Particular attention will be paid to young researchers, PhD students and students through the organization of events and meetings aimed at creating collaborative networks to facilitate the intercultural exchange and information for carrying out their research and planning future studies.
The congress will take place at the Auditorium Monastero dei Benedettini in Catania.
