The Congress will be an opportunity for the protagonists of the Italian scientific community to share the results of the most recent research, to discuss the future of Geosciences and to strengthen interactions with companies, with professionals, with the world of schools and with operators of public administration. The congress was also an opportunity to reflect on new strategies for the transfer of scientific knowledge from the academic community to civil society and to "decision makers" and on the key role that the Geosciences are called to support in the next decade for the realization of sustainable development goals set by the international community.

During the congress, ample space was given to young researchers, with the organization of special sessions and events aimed at promoting their activity and facilitating the creation of collaborative networks.
