The theme of time is central to every aspect of Earth Sciences, but on this occasion it has a further value, inserting itself into the panorama of the initiatives of Parma 2020 (Italian capital of culture), "Culture beats time", of which it constitutes a introductory event.

The congress will be organized in parallel oral and poster sessions, with plenary lectures by international scholars, on Geoscience topics of interest, and will be held at the new congress center and science classroom complex on the University Campus of Parma. The congress is open to all components of Geosciences, both academic and professional: for the latter it will provide an opportunity for professional updating, but also the possibility of creating new collaborations with the world of research.

Particular attention will be paid to young researchers, with an introductory day dedicated to the presentation of the contributions of the doctoral students, and to the educational and dissemination initiatives of the Earth Sciences.
